Mythic vs. Epic Heroes: Should You Rush to Mythic?

Mythic-rarity heroes are an understandable goal โ€” they're usually the strongest individual heroes available โ€” but chasing them too early is one of the more common ways players waste resources relative to where their account actually is.

Rarity isn't the same as "ready to use"

A partially-leveled mythic hero often performs worse than a well-developed epic hero, because hero level, skill investment, and gear all matter alongside base rarity. A high-rarity hero sitting under-leveled isn't actually giving you mythic-level performance yet.

Fundamentals first, rarity second

If your Furnace level, research, and troop tier are still behind where they could be, resources spent chasing a mythic hero are often better spent catching up those fundamentals first โ€” a strong epic hero on a well-developed account usually outperforms a weak mythic hero on an underdeveloped one.

When rushing mythic actually makes sense

  • You already have a well-developed account and are looking for the next meaningful power increase specifically from your hero roster.
  • The mythic hero in question fills a role (rally lead, key pairing) that your current roster is genuinely missing.
  • You have a realistic, sustainable path to the shards and resources needed, rather than a one-time lucky pull you're hoping to build around.

A patient middle path

Developing your epic heroes solidly while opportunistically collecting mythic shards in the background (without diverting your main resource focus) tends to produce a stronger account over time than an all-in rush toward a single mythic hero.

The bottom line

Rarity is a ceiling, not a guarantee โ€” an under-leveled mythic hero and a well-developed epic hero can be much closer in actual performance than their rarity labels suggest. Invest based on your account's real needs, not the label.
